Jeff Andersen Finishes 11th in the NCAA All-Around

CHAMPAIGN Ill - Air Force senior Jeff Andersen (Marietta, Ga.) finished 11th in the all-around at the 2004 NCAA Men's Gymnastics National Championship in Champaign, Ill., on Saturday, April 3. Andersen tallied a combined score of 52.525 - his third-highest total of the season.
Andersen advanced to the all-around finals after finishing fourth in the quarterfinal round yesterday (April 2).
Andersen's highest event finish of the night came on the still rings, where the senior captured a score of 9.300. He also recorded a score of 9.075 on the pommel horse to tie for 25th. Also contributing to his all-around total was an 8.925 on the vault, an 9.550 on the parallel bars, an 8.450 on the floor exercise and an 8.225 on the high bar.
The Falcons will team up once again next weekend (April 9-10) when they compete at the USA Gymnastics Championships in Denton, Texas. Air Force will compete against Southern Connecticut, Springfield, Navy, Vermont, Washington, Arizona State and defending champion William and Mary in the team finals on Friday, April 9, at 1 p.m.
