HAVERHILL, Mass. -- The Air Force-UConn hockey game on Jan. 8 at the Academy will be televised nationally on the CBS College Sports Network. Faceoff has been moved to 6:05 p.m. CBS C will televise two Atlantic Hockey Association games this season. The second match-up will feature Army taking on Mercyhurst at the Mercyhurst Ice Center on Friday, February 19, also at 8:00 pm ET.
Air Force last appeared on national television in the NCAA East Regional last season on ESPNU. The Falcons' last appearance on CBS College came on Jan. 25, 2008 against Army at West Point. The UConn game will mark the eighth time in the last three years that Air Force hockey has been featured on national television. Connecticut will be making its first ever appearance on national television.
The Falcons open the season on Monday, Oct. 5 with an exhibition game vs. the University of Calgary at 6:05 p.m. at the Cadet Ice Arena. The first regular-season series is Oct. 9-10 on the road at Bemidji State. AFA opens the home schedule on Oct. 16-17 vs. Alabama-Huntsville at Cadet Ice Arena.
