Air Force Wins Triangular Meet at Wisconsin-La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Claiming a share of the top spot on three of the four events, the Air Force women's gymnastics team picked up a first-place finish at the UW-La Crosse Triangular on Friday, Feb. 27, in La Crosse, Wis. Air Force evened its overall record at 7-7 with the pair of victories. Senior Abbey Rogers picked up a pair of event victories, while junior Aftan Boudreaux claimed another.
Air Force tallied a team score of 187.300 to win the tri-meet, while host Wisconsin-La Crosse finished second with a score of 185.675. Wisconsin-Oshkosh rounded out the team standings, with a third-place total of 176.700.
Rogers won the balance beam and floor exercise, while picking up the top score in the all-around. The senior captain tallied a 9.700 on the balance beam, while posting a 9.650 to tie for the top spot on the floor exercise. Rogers, who scored a 38.275 to win the all-around, also posted the Falcons' top finish on the vault, as she placed second with a score of 9.750.
Boudreaux picked up her first event victory of the season, as she accumulated a score of 9.300 to win the uneven bars. The junior led Air Force to five of the top six spots. Freshman Jenna Dudley tallied a 9.250 to finish second to Boudreaux, while Rogers took third at 9.175. Sophomore Brittany Dutton and freshman Samantha Jones rounded out the top-six finishers with fifth- (8.925) and sixth- (8.850) place finishes.
In addition to her second-place score on the uneven bars, Dudley tallied a 37.275 to place third in the all-around. Dutton claimed a third-place finish on the floor exercise at 9.625, while Jones set a career-best score of 9.700 to take third on the vault.
The Falcons continue action on Sunday (March 1), when they travel to St. Paul, Minn., for a dual meet with Hamline University. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m. (CST).
