Falcons Drop Narrow Meet to Alaska-Anchorage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Air Force women's gymnastics team dropped a narrow 187.650-187.075 competition to Alaska-Anchorage on Friday (March 12) night at the Wells Fargo Sports Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Junior Brittany Dutton paced the Falcons on the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise, accounting for top-three finishes on all three.
Dutton's best finish of the night came on the vault, as she finished second with a score of 9.675. She also scored a season-best 9.650 to take third on the uneven bars, while tying for third on the floor exercise with a mark of 9.675.
She guided the Falcons to two of the top three scores in the vault, as freshman Tara Harris garnered a score of 9.625 on that event to place third.
Air Force also claimed two of the top three spots on the balance beam. Sophomore Jenna Dudley scored a 9.500 to place second, while junior Lisa Wong finished third with a tally of 9.450.
Senior Michelle Denise picked up a finish among the top-third of the field on the uneven bars, as she placed fourth with a score of 9.600. Competing in just her second meet ever, freshman Britany Calley finished second in the all-around with a personal-best score of 37.175.
Air Force remains in Alaska for a rematch with the Seawolves on Sunday, March 14. The two teams will take to the floor at the Wells Fargo Sports Center at 2 p.m. (ADT).
