Air Force Finishes Third at Denver Triangular

DENVER, Colo. – Highlighted by an eighth-place finish on the balance beam from senior Sarah Neumann, the Air Force women's gymnastics team finished third at the DU Triangular this evening (March 4) in Denver. The Falcons registered a team score of 191.175 to finish behind the 13th-ranked Pioneers (196.825) and 19th-ranked Minnesota (196.175).
Neumann garnered a 9.775 – her second-highest score of the season – to tie for eighth and earn a spot among the top half of the 18-gymnast field on the balance beam.
Junior Kara Witgen also recorded a score of 9.775 on the night, matching her season high to lead the Falcons on the floor exercise (12th). Classmate Darby Germain was Air Force's top finisher on the uneven bars with an 11th-place score of 9.675, while freshman Mariana Murphy scored a 9.650 to lead the team with a 12th-place finish on the vault.
The Falcons return to action on Sunday, March 6, when they host the Pioneers and Gophers at Cadet West Gym. Action for Air Force's final home meet of the season is slated to get underway at 1:00 p.m.
