
Falcons to face Western Michigan in East Regional, March 24

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force will make its sixth trip in the last 11 years to the NCAA Hockey Tournament and will face a familiar foe. The third-seeded Falcons (No. 12 in the PairWise) will meet second-seeded Western Michigan (No. 6 in the PairWise) on Friday, March 24, in the NCAA East Regional at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. Faceoff is set for 7:30 pm ET and will be televised live on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
In the other East Regional matchup, top-seeded Harvard will face fourth-seeded Providence on Friday, March 24, at 4 p.m. ET. The winners of the two semifinal games will meet in the regional final on Saturday, March 25, at 8:30 pm ET.
Air Force advanced to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Atlantic Hockey Conference tournament last weekend. The Falcons defeated Army (1-0) in the semifinals and Robert Morris (2-1) in the championship game.
Air Force (26-9-5 overall) and Western Michigan met earlier this season in a two-game series in Kalamazoo, Mich., Nov. 18-19. After a 5-5 overtime tie in the first game, the Broncos defeated the Falcons, 4-1, in the second game.
