
Air Force Falls to #8 Denver in Road Opener

DENVER, Colo. – Air Force sophomore Anna Salamone tallied a career-best score of 9.825 to finish third on the uneven bars, as the women's gymnastics team opened the road portion of its season with a 196.800-191.750 loss to eighth-ranked Denver this afternoon (Jan. 14) at Magness Arena.
In addition to her third-place score on the uneven bars, Salamone also shared the team lead on the vault, as she and freshman Lauren Miller tied for sixth with matching scores of 9.775 (career-best marks for both). Freshman Jessica Kirkpatrick joined Salamone among the top-half of the 12-gymnast field on the uneven bars, matching her personal-best of 9.775 to finish sixth.
Freshman Tyler Davis was Air Force's top finisher on the floor exercise (career-best 9.850), while sophomore Emily Luers matched her season-high of 9.750 on the balance beam to round out the team's list of scoring leaders.
The Falcons return to action on Friday, Jan. 26, when they travel to 17th-ranked BYU.
