At Least It's Not A Loss...
With Air Force tying six matches this season, they have set a new program record for draws in a season, with the previous season-high being four back in 2006. On the season, Air Force is the only other Division I women's soccer team with six ties this season, with the next highest being Army West Point with five. The six draws in a single season also ties a Mountain West Conference record, which has happened twice in the conference's 20 year history (New Mexico, 2008/San Diego State, 2004).
Hiddink The Brick Wall
For the 2018 season, senior goalie Jennifer Hiddink continues to be one of the top keepers in both the conference and country. She is currently leading the Mountain West in saves per game (5.92), and save percentage (.845), while ranking second in total saves (71). Her saves per game are 28th in the NCAA, while her total saves are 29th, and her save percentage is 36th. In addition, Hiddink is 13th among active goalies in career saves, as well as 11th in career saves per game among active netminders.
Racking Up The Minutes
As a result of all the double overtime games Air Force has played this season, it comes as no surprise they are among the leaders in the nation in average minutes per game. With six double OT matches in 12 games, Air Force has played an average of 100 minutes per game, which is good for third in the country, just behind Drexel (100.25) and St. Bonaventure (102).
Tough October Stretch
With the Calender turning over into October, the final month of the regular season will also be Air Force's toughest stretch of the year, as five of their remaining seven matches will be on the road. Prior to October, the Falcons had played just two true road matches, at Army on Sept. 7, and at San Jose State, Sept. 23.
Moving Up The Record Book
Senior Jennifer Hiddink has had an outstanding Air Force career, and because of that she finds herself near the top of the Falcon record book in numerous categories. The veteran netminder is second in Air Force history in career saves with 316. She 49 away from breaking the program record of 364 set by Steph Jardine. In addition, the Wylie, Texas native is second in goals against average (1.25), third in shutouts (12), while also ranking fourth in wins (16), and GK minutes (4975).
Additionally, Hiddink is also cementing herself as one of the all-time best to play in the Mountain West Conference.
