Falcon Women’s Tennis With Strong Finish at AFA Invitational

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's tennis finished day three action with several strong performance at the AFA Invitational. The Falcons earned three individual flight wins and two doubles flight wins.

Sophomore Meredith Jones led the way, going 4-0 over the weekend to win the no. 1 singles flight. Freshman Amanda Reinhart went 6-0 to win her flight and fellow freshman Alex Kuo went 4-0 to win her flight.

Jones and Kuo also teamed up to win their doubles flight, going 3-0. Reinhart and classmate Abby Warner went 3-0 to win their doubles flight.

"It was great to get these matches in and see how our cadet-athletes could compete in a tournament," head coach Kim Gidley said. "Anytime we have our players go undefeated for the weekend, things are moving in the right direction. I was pleased in that I saw improvement on the court from match to match. The fight and effort these four put forth this weekend and how coachable they were was tremendous. Today there were some tough matches and our players responded with the right amount of resiliency. Meredith was down the entire third set and came back to win 7-5 in the third set, while Alex was down 3-0 in the first set and stormed right back to win in straight sets. This is really the start of some great things for this team and it was fun to see them be successful in how to be a team off the court too."
