Air Force Drops Home Contest to UNLV, 62-47

Emily Conroe led Air Force women’s basketball with 18 points, Wednesday evening at USAFA
USAF Academy, Colo. - The UNLV Lady Rebels swept the two-game seasonal series, beating Air Force, 62-47, Wednesday evening in Clune Arena. The Falcons, who still hold a 7-4 record on the home court, drop to 8-15 overall with a 4-8 mark in league play.
UNLV led the Falcons for over 39-minutes of action as the Falcons struggled to get their offense fired up.
The Falcons leading scorers, Kaelin Immel and Riley Snyder, had zero first-half points while Emily Conroe netted 12.
Conroe led the game with 18 points from two three-pointers and seven field goals, shooting 43.7 percent from the field on the night. Conroe also added five rebounds and three steals to her stat line. Freshman Briana Autrey added 10 points to the final tally but had nearly as many turnovers as points, as the freshman committed nine on the evening.
Haley Jones made her presence known in the paint as she collected six offensive and five defensive rebounds for 11 total boards, tying UNLV's Katie Powell, a 6-4 senior center, with 11 rebounds on the game. Jones also added six points, a block and a steal to her final stat line.
Powell led UNLV with 14 points and 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. UNLV out-shot Air Force, 46.0 percent to 28.8 percent from the field. The Falcons, who out-rebounded the Rebels 22-18 in the first half, fell off the boards in the second half, ending the game with two less rebounds than their counterparts, 40-38. The Rebels' bench accounted for 29 points while Air Force's injury-riddled bench only combined for six.
Air Force hits the road to take on Utah State, 2 p.m. MT, in Logan Utah. The Falcons will be meeting with Aggies for the second time this season as they look to make up on the 48-44 loss at home on Jan. 5.

First Quarter: UNLV 20, AF 7

-Conroe drained her second three-ball via Itugbu's assist, still trailing by seven
