Fresno State (15-7, 8-3 MWC) is currently sitting at third in the MWC standings. Air Force has yet to beat Fresno State in the 13-game series.
AIR FORCE AT A GLANCE:
Three Falcons have double-figure scoring averages, led by Kaelin Immel, who registered a career-high 30-point game in the win against San Jose State (Jan. 26). Immel, who averages 13.5 points per game in MWC play, has 14 double-figure scoring performances this year. She shoots .324 from deep and .351 from the field.
Emily Conroe, a 5-10 sophomore guard, has stepped up as the team's leading rebounder (5.8 rpg/ 6.3 rpg in MWC) since losing Kassady Huffman to a knee injury. Conroe has proven her utility on both sides of the ball as she has 12 double-figure scoring performances highlighted by a 22-point showing in Air Force's first win over Colorado State in 13 games. Conroe also boasts the best free-throw shooting percentage on the team (.725)
A trio of freshmen help make up the Falcons' top-five leading scorers. Riley Snyder, a six-foot forward, averages 10.0 points per game this season and has 11 double-figure scoring marks highlighted by two 20-point games. Freshman Briana Autrey has the squad's highest field goal shooting percentage (.415), but is still learning how to manage the ball at the collegiate level, turning the ball over four times per game. Autrey's offensive productivity outshines her turnovers as she is one-of-two players to have three 20-point performances this season, tying her for second on the team in points per game (10.0). Haley Jones, a six-foot guard, has become a force for the Falcons in MWC play, averaging 7.2 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game, while shooting .375 from the field and leading the team with 22 steals.
DOWNSIZING:
Air Force's tallest active players is a six-foot tie between two freshmen, Riley Snyder and Haley Jones. The Falcons' two tallest players, Kassady Huffman (6-2) and Jenna Adams (6-1) are out with injuries. Another pair of Air Force six-footers, Audrey Weiner and Naomi Hughes, are also sidelined for the season. The average height for healthy Falcons with five games played or more is just over 5'9''.
LAST TIME OUT:
The UNLV Lady Rebels swept the two-game seasonal series, beating Air Force, 62-47, Wednesday evening (Feb. 13) in Clune Arena. The Falcons, who still hold a 7-4 record on the home court, drop to 8-15 overall with a 4-8 mark in league play.
UNLV led the Falcons for over 39-minutes of action as the Falcons struggled to get their offense fired up.
The Falcons' leading scorers, Kaelin Immel and Riley Snyder, had zero first-half points while Emily Conroe netted 12.
Conroe led the game with 18 points from two three-pointers and seven field goals, shooting 43.7 percent from the field on the night. Conroe also added five rebounds and three steals to her stat line. Freshman Briana Autrey added 10 points to the final tally but had nearly as many turnovers as points, as the freshman committed nine on the evening.
Haley Jones made her presence known in the paint as she collected six offensive and five defensive rebounds for 11 total boards, tying UNLV's Katie Powell, a 6-4 senior center, with 11 rebounds on the game. Jones also added six points, a block and a steal to her final stat line.
