
Falcons Travel to Penn State for Saturday Triangular

Air Force will face Penn State and Navy at Recreation Hall on Saturday afternoon.
After a weekend off from competition, the 13th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team returns to action this Saturday (Feb. 23), when it travels to University Park, Pa., for a triangular meet with sixth-ranked Penn State and seventh-ranked Navy.
MEET INFORMATION
Penn State's triangular meet with Air Force and Navy will be held at Rec Hall on the PSU campus and is slated to start at 4:00 p.m. (ET). Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth. Live results and a webcast will be available via GoPSUSports.com
LET'S MEET THE OPPONENTS
Penn State and Navy are ranked sixth (404.567) and seventh (403.383), respectively, under the Three-Score national ranking system. The Nittany Lions lead the nation on the pommel horse, while also holding top-five averages on the still rings (third, 69.000) and floor exercise (fourth, 69.133). Penn State is led by Stephen Nedoroscik, who was named to the Team USA squad that will compete at next month's World Cup after winning the pommel horse at the Winter Cup Challenge. Nedoroscik leads the nation on that event with a three-score average of 15.150, while Sam Zakutney is ranked among the country's top-five on both the high bar (second, 14.067) and floor exercise (fifth, 14.467). Navy holds top-five team marks on the high bar (third, 66.750) and pommel horse (fourth, 66.767). A pair of Midshipmen are listed in the top-10 of the pommel horse standings, as David Toussaint and Ryan Orce are ranked sixth (13.933) and seventh (13.933), respectively.
COACHING CONNECTIONS
Karl (Schwenzfeier) Schier served as a head coach for both Air Force (1965-68, 1970-76) and his alma mater Penn State (1977-91), while Kip Simons spent 10 years on the Air Force sidelines (2006-15) before moving onto Navy in 2016.
