Air Force women's basketball will tip-off against the Spartans, 2 p.m. PT, Saturday afternoon in the Event Center

Air Force travels to San Jose, California to take on the San Jose State Spartans, 2 p.m. PT, Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Event Center. The Falcons are looking to sweep the seasonal series after downing the Spartans, 88-77, January 26, at USAFA. San Jose State currently sits at 11th in the league (2-21, 1-11 MWC).
THE SERIES WITH SAN JOSE STATE:
The Falcons and Spartans will be meeting for the 16th time in the all-time series, with San Jose State leading, 11 wins to four.

Air Force came up short in a fourth quarter rally, falling to Fresno State, 77-70, Wednesday evening at Clune Arena, USAFA.
The Falcon sophomores put forth solid efforts on the night, led by co-team captain Kaelin Immel who scored 22 points in her fourth 20-point-plus scoring performance this season. Immel, who has 16 double-digit scoring marks this season, also added three rebounds and a block to her stats line. Classmate Emily Conroe, the Falcons' leading rebounder and second leading scorer in Mountain West play, recorded 17 points, eight rebounds, three assist, two steals and a block on the night. Conroe has 14 double-figure scoring performances this season and has been on the cusp of several double-double performances this season. The Fredericksburg, Virginia, native played for 35 minutes, shooting 70.0-percent from the field and 50.0-percent from deep.
Despite losing, Air Force had a solid defensive performance, holding the league's leading scorer, Candice White, to only two points in the first half and nine points on the game, tying her season low. It was only her second game this season that she didn't have double-figure scoring productivity. She averages 19 points per game this season. Air Force also had its best night of the season in regards to ball management, turning the rock over only seven times as the Bulldogs' doubled-up with 14 turnovers.

Not only is she one of the lead rebounding guards in the conference, she is tied for fourth in the MWC with 1.8 steals per game. Conroe has proven her utility on both sides of the ball with her defensive accolades and 14 double-figure scoring performances highlighted by a 22-point showing in Air Force's first win over Colorado State in 13 games. She led the Falcons in scoring in the two games of the last three games, scoring a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds at Utah State, coming up just one board short of her third double-double performance this season. Conroe also boasts the best field goal and free-throw shooting percentage on the team, shooting .415 and .727, respectively.
A trio of freshmen help make up the Falcons' top-five leading scorers. Riley Snyder, a six-foot forward, averages 10.8 points per game in league play this season and has 11 double-figure scoring marks highlighted by two 20-point games. Freshman Briana Autrey has the squad's second-highest field goal shooting percentage (.413), but is still learning how to manage the ball at the collegiate level, as she turns the ball over four-and-a-half turnovers per game. Autrey's offensive productivity outshines her turnovers as she is one-of-two players to have three 20-point performances this season, averaging 9.8 points per game. Haley Jones, a six-foot guard, has become a force for the Falcons in MWC play, averaging 7.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in league play.

The San José State women's basketball team came out on fire from the three-point line, sinking eight in the first half and a total of 14 for the game, en route to its first victory in Colorado State's Moby Arena in nine games, 78-70 on Wednesday night.
This season the Spartans (3-21, 2-11 MW) have enjoyed the thin air of the Rockies making a total of 39 three-pointers in three games played in the state of Colorado. The 14 threes on Wednesday equals a season-high, which was set against the Colorado Buffaloes, in Boulder, back on December 6. In addition, at Air Force, in Colorado Springs, SJSU drained 11 treys. For the game San José State was 14-of-26 (54 percent) from beyond the arc; its second-best shooting performance from distance this season.
Danae Marquez led the team with 17 point and hit a career-high five threes. She now has 58 for her career, and she vaults into 20th place on the program's career-threes list. In addition, the Fresno native had four assists and passed Joi Turner (1993-97) for 16th place on the all-time assists list. In 53 career games Marquez has 192 assists.

The Falcons, who improved to 7-12 overall with a 3-5 mark in league play, were led by sophomore co-team captain Kaelin Immel who scored a career-high 30 points.
Immel, who knocked down a season-high 11 field goals, had a team-high five assists, collected five rebounds, blocked two shots and picked off a steal. The Beaverton, Oregon, native shot 11-23 (.478) from the field with three of the buckets coming from down range.

Riley Snyder, who averages 10.4 points per game, dropped 18 on the night while shooting .583 from the field. Haley Jones shot .556 from the field to score 13 points for the fourth time this season while registering her first collegiate double-double with 10 rebounds. Briana Autrey, whose defensive effort changed the course of the game in the fourth quarter, scored 13 points while shooting .500 from deep and .400 from the field. She had three steals and collected five rebounds.
