Tyler Davis led Air Force women’s gymnastics with a personal season-best 9.875 on the floor exercise
AUBURN-- The Air Force women's gymnastics team combined for a 193.274 team score on Hometown Heroes Night, finishing behind the No. 12 Auburn Tigers (196.825), in dual meet action, Friday evening, at Auburn Arena.
Tyler Davis, a USAG All-American in 2018, led Air Force in two events, posting personal season-high marks in the vault (9.800) and floor exercise (9.875). Anna Salamone followed up with a 9.775 on the vault while teammates Daija Stevenson and Heidi Sand scored just behind with 9.750 marks in the same event.
On the uneven parallel bars, Salamone, an Academy record-holder in the event, scored a team-high 9.700 alongside senior teammate Analise Howard. Air Force finished with a 47.425 team score on the bars.
On the balance beam, it was Mariana Murphy who led the Falcons with a 9.800 mark, tying her season-high score. Howard, who is back in action after a knee injury, posted a personal season-best 9.775 in the event. Air Force concluded action on the beam with a 48.625 team score.
The Falcons scored 48.475 on the floor exercise, led by Davis with the team-high score followed by Sand who finished with a career-best 9.775.
Up next, The Falcons head to Seattle, Washington, to compete at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships with UC Davis, Sacramento State, Alaska-Anchorage and San Jose State at Seattle Pacific University. Action is slated to start at 6 p.m. PT/ 7 MT, on Saturday, March 23, at Brougham Pavilion on the campus of Seattle Pacific University.
