Falcons Face Pacific in Midweek Series

Following Along At Home
- The games against the Tigers can be followed via live stats on Statbroadcast, as well as via a live stream on the West Coast Conference Network. All games can also be tracked live on Twitter, @AF_Baseball.
Last Time Out
- The Falcons had a tough week, going 0-5 with non-conference series losses to Nebraska (0-2) and Dallas Baptist (0-3)
- Air Force dropped a back and forth affair to Nebraska, 7-6, Tuesday evening, March 19, at Haymarket Park. The Falcons trailed 4-0 early, but took a lead in the seventh, only to fall in the late innings. Air Force matched the Huskers in hits, 10-10.
- The first two games in the series with DBU were also exceptionally close, as the Falcons dropped the opener in the 12th inning, 4-2, while falling in game two, 6-5, after a Dallas Baptist grand slam in the ninth gave them the one run lead.
Trio of Aces
- Three Air Force pitchers have dominated to start the season in seniors Matt Hargreaves and Jake Gilbert, as well as freshman Nathan Price.
- All three own the top three ERAs in the Mountain West Conference with Hargreaves (0.82), Gilbert (1.35) and Price (1.42).
- In addition, all three ERAs are within the top 50 in the country, with Hargreaves ranking 16th
- Price also top 75 nationally numbers in Hits/9 inn (71st), WHIP (22nd), and Walks/9 inn (61st).
100 Club
- Senior Ethan Nichols and junior Ashton Easley, who were high school teammates at Marcus High School in Texas, both reach career milestones against Dallas Baptist, March 24. Nichols recorded his 100th career strikeout, while Easley his 100th career hit on an RBI single.
Run, Falcons, Run
- The Falcons have been active on the base paths to start the year, having stolen 40 bags so far
- The 40 steals ranks first in the conference and 38th in the country.
- Junior Ashton Easley has 16 swipes to lead the conference, and rank 15th in the nation.
- Against Northern Colorado, March 12, Air Force stole 10 bags, the most in a single game for AF since May 4, 1979.
Don't Run on Dau
- Senior captain catcher Rob Dau has always had a knack for throwing out would-be base stealers, as he has been top-five in the conference in that category all three seasons, including leading the league as a sophomore in 2017. This season, he has thrown out eight and picked-off six to lead the league in both categories.
Doubles Machine
- Senior Nic Ready has nine doubles to begin the season to lead the team
- The nine doubles rank tied for second in the MW and 50th in the NCAA
- Ready is 12 doubles away from breaking the school record
Trio of Goose Eggs
- Air Force has recorded three shutouts this season, already surpassing its total from last season (2).
- The Falcons are one of just 33 teams with three or more shutouts this season, and the only in the MW Conference.
Active Career Leader
- With such a successful career to this point, it shouldn't come as much surprise that senior Nic Ready is among the NCAA active career leaders in multiple categories. The Texas is the active career leader in doubles (66), while ranking second among active players in total bases (459) and RBIs (194), and fifth in home runs (39).
On the Horizon
- Air Force returns to Mountain West play with a road series at Nevada, Friday-Sunday, March 29-31.
