Finishing the Series
- Thursday's game will mark the conclusion of the originally scheduled game against SDSU back on March 2 at Falcon Field. That game was halted in the bottom of the second with SDSU leading 2-0. AF has two runners on and no outs.
- In the first game of that series, AF won by the final tally of 9-5. The third game of the series has officially been canceled.
Last Time Out
- Air Force went 1-4 in a five game weekend series at Fresno State, April 12-14. The lone win came in the night cap of a doubleheader, Saturday, April 13, a 4-3 victory.
- The two teams played two consecutive doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday to make up two games that were postponed from the series at USAFA, March 15-17. The third game of that series was canceled.
Punch 'Em Out
- In the series at Fresno State, Air Force pitchers racked up the Ks, while a trio sent new career bests.
- In total, the Falcons staff totaled 33 punch outs over the five game set (39 inns.), including 12 in the nightcap on April 12 to tie the season high.
- Starting pitchers Jake Gilbert (6), Zach Argo (9), and Luke Chilcutt (6) all set new career personal bests in strikeouts in a single outing.
Don't Run on Dau
- Senior captain catcher Rob Dau has always had a knack for throwing out would-be base stealers, as he has been top-five in the conference in that category all three seasons, including leading the league as a sophomore in 2017. This season, he has thrown out 18 and picked-off 10 to lead the league in both categories.
Run, Falcons, Run
- The Falcons have been active on the base paths this season, having stolen 57 bags
- The 57 steals ranks first in the conference and 47th in the country.
- Junior Ashton Easley has 22 swipes to lead the conference, and rank 16th in the nation.
- Against Northern Colorado, March 12, Air Force stole 10 bags, the most in a single game for AF since May 4, 1979.
Ready the Record Books
- Coming into the season, senior Nic Ready was poised to break many school records, and he has a couple to his name already
- His first record broken was Friday, March 29 at Nevada. With a solo home run to tie the game in the eighth inning, Ready recorded the 196th RBI of his AF career, to surpass the previous record of 195 held by Vern Mullis ('94) and Tyler Jones ('17).
- The second came against Utah Valley, April 9. With seven total bases in the contest, Ready achieved 487 career total bases to pass Mike Theissen, who had 486 from 1998-2001.
- The next records Ready has his eye on are the Academy record in hits, doubles, and home runs, as well as the MW Conference record in RBIs.
Active Career Leader
- With such a successful career to this point, it shouldn't come as much surprise that senior Nic Ready is among the NCAA active career leaders in multiple categories. The Texas is the active career leader in doubles (72), while ranking second among active players in total bases (494), third in RBIs (204), and sixth in HRs (41).
Twice is Nice
- Nic Ready has 15 doubles to lead the team this season. He ranks second in the conference and 17th in the nation.
- His 72 career doubles is fourth most in program history. He is just six away from breaking the record of 77 set by Garrett Custons in 2013.
Ready Named Finalist for Senior CLASS Award
- Senior infielder Nic Ready has been named a finalist for the 2019 Baseball Senior CLASS Award, announced, April 10. Ready is one of 10 Division I baseball players who are being recognized for their work both on and off the field and the only finalist representing the Mountain West Conference.
- To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
- Finalists were chosen by national media from the list of 30 candidates announced in March. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches' votes to determine the winner. This year's Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2019 College World Series® in June.

Dau is one of 79 catchers who were nominated for the award given annually to the top catcher in Division I baseball.
On the Horizon
- The Falcons will have another midweek off before returning home for a three game weekend series against Nevada, April 26-28. Air Force took 2-of-3 from the Wolf Pack in Reno earlier this season.
