Against JU, AF out-shot the Dolphins by a 15-6 margin, but could not find the back of the net. Versus UNF, Air Force trailed 2-0 into the 75th minute, before scoring two goals in the final 15 minutes to send it to OT. In the extra stanza, freshman Faith Lee scored in the 99th minute to take the match, 3-2.
Best Six-Game Start Of Division I Era
By starting the season 4-1-1, the Falcons are off to their best six-game start to a season in the Division I era, which began in 1996. The program record for best six-game start to a season came in 1993 when the Falcons went 5-1 to start the year in just the second year of the team's existence. If Air Force wins on Friday, they will set the new mark for best seven-game start to a season in program history.
Rookies Making an Immediate Impact
The 2019 freshman class, which came in ranked as the 32nd ranked class according to Top Drawer Soccer, has already made an immediate impact on both sides of the field. Freshman forward Lexi Romero leads the team with 11 points (4G, 3A), which ranks second in the MW Conference.
Freshmen also tallying goals are Faith Lee and Catherine Bakken, while Emiley Benner is tied for the team lead with three assists. Defender Kayla Milford has also started all six games on defense, and totaled 446 minutes.
