
Air Force Unable To Overtake Boise State

BOISE, Idaho - Air Force men's basketball fell to Boise State, 74-57, in Mountain West action Tuesday night at ExtraMile Arena. Senior Lavelle Scottie led the Falcons with 16 points.
In game that was much closer than the final score, Boise State was able to pull away with a big run in the second half.
Air Force hung close to Boise State for most of the game, never trailing by more than eight for the first 30 minutes. The Falcons had pulled to within two points after back-to-back three-point plays with 15:07 to play. Boise State countered with a 17-4 run to take control of the game. The Falcons were within five points of the Broncos with under nine minutes to play, but a 10-0 run put the game out of reach.
Scottie led the Falcons in scoring for the 11th time this season, going 5 of 10 from the field and 5 of 6 at the line. Scottie added four rebounds.
Center Ryan Swan followed with nine points and four rebounds. Chris Joyce and Ameka Akaya added seven points each. Joyce added five rebounds. AJ Walker led the Falcons with six rebounds, to go with five points and two assists.
Justinian Jessup led Boise State with 18 points. RJ Williams recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Derrick Alston scored all 15 of his points in the second half.
Air Force shot just 29 percent from the field in the first half, has Boise State took a 30-23 lead at the half. The Falcons got its offense going in the second half, shooting 52 percent. For the game, the Falcons shot 42 percent from the field.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 15, hosting San Jose State. The game tips at 12 pm MT and will be broadcast/streamed by the Mountain West Network. The game was originally scheduled for 2 pm, but was moved up two hours to accommodate the NHL game at Falcon Stadium later in the evening.
