Air Force is tied for sixth in AHA while Canisius is ninth

Air Force (8-14-4, 8-10-4 AHA) travels to Buffalo, N.Y., for a two-game Atlantic Hockey series against Canisius (7-15-4, 6-10-4 AHA), Friday-Saturday, Feb. 7-8. Friday's faceoff is at 7:35 pm ET while Saturday's game starts at 4:05 pm ET.
Air Force is tied for sixth place in the AHA (31 points) while Canisius is ninth (25), six points behind the Falcons.

Scouting Canisius
Canisius is 7-15-4 overall and 6-10-4 and in ninth place in the AHA. Canisius had an eight-game unbeaten streak in December and January. The Griffs are 5-3-4 in their last 12 games. Last weekend, Canisius split a two-game series at Army, winning 3-2 in overtime and then falling, 4-2. Senior Matt Hoover leads the team, and is fifth in the league, with 26 points. Senior Nick Hutchison leads the team, and is fifth in the league, with 14 goals. Freshman Jacob Barczewski has started the last nine games and has a .904 saves percentage and a .3.07 GAA.
Series vs. Canisius
Air Force and Canisius have played 47 times and the Falcons hold a 23-15-9 lead in the series that began in 2006. The teams played four times last season with each team winning two. The teams split each series at each location. In games played in Buffalo, AF is 10-6-4 against Canisius. The teams met last season at Harborcenter in Buffalo and split the series. After a 7-3 Air Force win in game one, the Griffs defeated the Falcons, 2-0, in game two.
