COVID-19 Update
-Current Department of Defense and Air Force Academy policies require all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask when indoors in all Academy facilities, including the press box, Blue and Silver Club, suites, elevators and restrooms. All individuals who have not been fully vaccinated must also wear masks outdoors at all times while on the installation. Fans who are fully vaccinated and are not required to wear a mask when outdoors. Anyone with a COVID-19 diagnosis within the previous 10 days, or any symptoms suggestive of possible COVID-19, or a recent close contact with an individual known to be positive for COVID-19 should not come to the stadium. These policies will be constantly evaluated and any changes will be communicated.
Series History vs. Army
-Historically, the Falcons are 8-12 against the Black Knights since the series began in 1985, including a 3-6 record at West Point.
-Air Force's most previous matchup with Army took place in 2019, as the Falcons were narrowly defeated 68-66 at Clune Arena.
-The Falcons did triumph in the series' most recent matchup in New York, with Air Force beating Army 71-60 in 2018.
The Last Time Air Force was at Army
-Sophomore forward Riley Snyder was the Falcons leading scorer, as she posted 13 points for her second double-figure scoring mark of the season.
-Snyder also collected five rebounds and two steals on the night.
-Haley Jones was a force in the paint, grabbing eight rebounds and scoring 10 points.
-The Falcons raced out to a strong start, outscoring Army 14-6 in the first quarter while causing three Black Knight turnovers and giving up none.
-Air Force shot 43%(10-23) from the field and 50% (4-8) from deep in the second quarter where they held a game-high 21-point lead, and 42-percent from the field and 44-percent from down range on the half.
-A change in the wind turned the favor away from Air Force in the second half as the Falcons shot just 14-percent in the third quarter, hitting just 3-of-22 from the field. -Army outscored the Falcons 21-6 in the third quarter while cutting the Air Force lead to just two points at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
-The Falcons' shooting improved in the fourth quarter but not enough to hold off the Black Knights who go hot from the arc, knocking down three-of-four three-ball attempt while shooting 10-of-15 from the field.
-Air Force battled to within two points with 1:11 remaining but were unable to score a tying bucket in the final 70-seconds.
Coming off of a Win
-Air Force found itself back in the win column on Saturday, taking down the visiting Cal State Fullerton Titans by a score of 67-59.
-The Falcons were guided by their veteran players, as Riley Snyder managed a game-high 18 points. Snyder finished the day 4-9 from the field, including 2-5 from long range. The senior was also a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.
-Fellow C1C's Briana Autrey-Thompson and Cierra Winters posted nearly identical stat lines with both ending their respective afternoons with 14 points.
-Haley Jones was again a crucial piece down low, hauling in a team-high nine rebounds to go with her seven points.
After Army
-Following Wednesday's game, AIr Force will travel to Virginia to play Norfolk State on Saturday, November 27. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 pm MT.
