Falcons Return to Action at Potts Invitational

Air Force heads to Boulder for competition this Friday (field events) and Saturday (track events).
The Air Force track and field team returns to action this weekend, as it kicks off the 2022 calendar year at the Potts Indoor Invitational in Boulder. The Falcons, who had a stellar season-opening weekend in December, return from winter break to face off against their Front Range counterparts at Colorado's Indoor Practice Facility on Friday, Jan. 14, and Saturday, Jan. 15.
MEET INFORMATION
The Potts Invitational, which includes teams from Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Wyoming, will be held at the Indoor Practice Facility on the east side of Folsom Field. The six field events will take place on Friday, while all running events will be held on Saturday (a complete schedule of events is listed below). For fans planning to attend the meet, admission is $5 on Friday and $8 on Saturday. Only water is allowed inside the IPF and spectators must adhere to Colorado's "Clear Bag Policy". Live results will be available via CUBuffs.com/TrackLive.

FRIDAY – 12:00 p.m.: Men's Shot Put, followed by Women's Shot Put, Men's Weight Throw, followed by Women's Weight Throw; 12:00 p.m.: Men's High Jump, followed by Women's High Jump; 12:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, followed by Men's Pole Vault; 12:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; SATURDAY – 11:00 a.m.: Mile Run, followed by 60-Meter Hurdles, 60-Meter Dash, 400-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay (men will compete first in all running events)

AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Highlighted by a pair of top-five marks, four Falcons are listed among the nation's Top 10 in this week's TFFRS standings. With their Academy Record performances during last month's opening weekend, Katie Thompson is ranked third in the long jump (20'3") and Sam Gilman is listed fourth in the 5000-meter run (13:25.17). In addition, Brid O'Connell holds the No. 8 spot in the 800-meter run (2:12.07) and Collin Schulz debuted in ninth on the TFFRS high jump list following a 6'10¾" clearance in his first collegiate debut.
