DENVER, Colo.- The Falcons performed admirably up against the #11 Denver Pioneers, with Air Force garnering its second-highest team score of 2022. Air Force's 194.650 is the group's best team total since the Falcons January 30 tri-meet.
Ayla McKean and Genevieve Sabado each shared third overall in the all-around, as both gymnasts collected a four-event score of 38.925.
McKean's 9.825 following her vault performance is a new career-high and the highest score a Falcon has received in the event in 2022. Sabado was judged for a 9.825 following her floor exercise routine, good for a fourth-place finish.
Air Force rewrote its team-high point total in the vault with a 48.500 against Sacramento State on Friday. Two days later, the Falcons proceeded to again script a new season-high in the event after McKean, Sabado, Amber Boll, Gabriella Meccia, and Velandra Brochi were collectively judged for a 48.875.
Boll's 9.800 vault score is a new-season high, as the junior also placed sixth in the uneven bars with a 9.775.
Val Smith was the highest finisher on the beam for Air Force, as her 9.700 placed her in a share for fifth.
The Falcons 194.650 is the program's 11th-highest score of the past decade.
