Falcons finish 3rd at MPSF Championships

DAVIS, Calif.- At the 2022 MPSF Championships, Air Force placed third with a team score of 193.750, behind conference winner San Jose State (196.425) and runner-up UC-Davis (196.050).
The Falcons managed consistent results across the board, scoring at least 48.000 points in all four events.
Briona Carswell gave Air Force it's highest single-event total, as the junior was credited with a 9.825 on the beam. Carswell's beam total was good for a sixth-place tie. Genevieve Sabado and Cameo Stapleton split team-bests following the floor exercise, where the pair was given identical 9.800 totals. The two shared 12th place.
Ayla McKean, as well as Genevieve Sabado were the Falcons two all-around qualifiers. Sabado's four-event total added up to a 38.850, with McKean's 38.825 in hot pursuit. McKean's highest score of the afternoon was a 9.775 following her uneven bars routine, where she took a tie for 7th.
The Falcons most well-received event was the floor exercise where the women were judged for a 48.850 collective total.
Along with Sabado and Stapleton, senior Daija Stevenson (9.775) shared 15th-place, while Carswell (9.750) was just behind her teammate tied for 17th place. McKean was the other Falcon gymnast in the floor exercise lineup, scoring a 9.725 to place her 20th.
