Air Force announces 2022-23 hockey schedule

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force hockey team will open the 2022-23 season with a home exhibition game against Colorado College followed by co-hosting the annual Ice Breaker Tournament, Oct. 7-8, at Cadet Ice Arena. The Falcons will play 20 regular-season home games this season.
Air Force opens the season by hosting an exhibition game with the Colorado College Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 6 pm at the Cadet Ice Arena. The regular season opens by co-hosting the annual Ice Breaker Tournament, Oct. 7-8, at Cadet Ice Arena. The Falcons will face Maine on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7 pm and will then host 2022 NCAA participant Notre Dame on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 7 pm.
After a road trip to first-year NCAA Division I program Lindenwood, the Falcons open Atlantic Hockey play with a home series against RIT, Thursday-Friday, Oct. 20-21.
On the final weekend of October, the Falcons will battle Colorado College for the Pikes Peak Trophy. The teams will play at CC on Friday, Oct. 28, and then at Air Force on Saturday, Oct. 29.
After a non-conference home series against Alaska-Anchorage, the Falcons will play eight straight conference games before the holiday break. Following the break, the Falcons host a two-game league set with Canisius before traveling to Tempe, Ariz., for the Desert Hockey Classic, Jan. 6-7. Air Force will face Boson University in the first game and either Michigan Tech or Arizona State in the second game. The Falcons then play a conference series on seven straight weekends in the second half of the season with the regular-season concluding at RIT, Feb. 24-25. The AHA playoffs begin the weekend of March 3-5.
