
Women’s Gymnastics Carries Early Momentum Into UC Davis, Alaska-Anchorage Tri-Meet

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Off to a strong start in 2023, the Air Force women's gymnastics team continues its spring tour, as the Falcons head to Davis, Calif. to showcase their talents in a tri-meet with host UC Davis and Alaska-Anchorage.
Last Time Out:
The Falcons, after opening the season on a program-high 194.150 in a season debut, took second place at Texas Woman's quad (Jan. 20).
Along with a first-place team finish in the vault, Air Force finished second in all three remaining events, posting a 47.800 on uneven bars, 48.675 on balance beam, and a 48.800 in the floor exercise, and improving total scores in three of four events on the night compared to the Falcons' home opener on Jan. 16.
Seven separate Falcons across all four rotations improved upon their scores in each respective event from their season debut.
Kylee Greene – MPSF Freshman of the Week
Greene earned a second-place finish on the floor (9.825) and two fourth-place finishes on the vault (9.700) and balance beam (9.800) on the way to the Falcons' highest-ever scoring season opener (194.150) on Jan 16. At the Texas Woman's Quad, Greene tied her debut on the floor with another second-place 9.825, and improved on the vault with a 9.725 to earn another fourth-place finish in the event. This is Greene's first career MPSF honor.

Air Force includes 21 competitors for the 2023 season, boasting a total of eight USA Gymnastics All-American honors and nine All-MPSF selections from 2022 including MPSF Freshman of the Year Genevieve Sabado.
The Falcons' roster includes eight newcomers for 2023 (Sayge Berger, Madison Carlisle, Kylee Greene, Gabriella Hartley, Gianna Martyna, Addison Moore, Janie Ottenbreit, Sarah Willis) boasting 13 total championship awards, including one at the national level and two regional titles.
Looking Ahead:
In 2023, the Falcons host four separate home meets across a three-month coast-to-coast campaign - A season punctuated by Air Force's hosting of the MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) Championship on the USAFA campus for the sixth time since 2002. The postseason event will be held on March 18 at Clune Arena for the first time in the venue's storied history.
