The Air Force women's gymnastics team carries its upward trajectory up interstate 25, as the Falcons prepare for a Sunday quad at Denver, along with George Washington and Pittsburgh.
Last Time Out:
"Pack the House" night on Friday evening was a fantastic success for the Air Force women's gymnastics team, as the Falcons posted a season-best 194.700 hosting Sacramento State in front of a 500-large crowd at the Cadet West Gym.
Air Force claimed a team victory in three of the evening's four rotations, posting a 48.450 on the vault, 48.375 on uneven bars and 49.075 on the balance beam; One Air Force performer finished second-or-better in all four rotations, with Velandra Brochi earning the all-around title with a 38.900.
Vault
Senior Amber Boll earned her first of three podiums in the Falcons' opening rotation, earning a second-place finish with a 9.775. Brochi and freshman Kylee Greene tied for fourth at 9.700.
Bars
Boll and Grace Nelson claimed the top-two spots on uneven bars, posting a 9.800 and 9.675, respectively. Greene and sophomore Leilani Zander tied for fourth at 9.675.
Beam
Ayla McKean tied the program's second-best all-time score on balance beam, tying for first place with a with a 9.900.
Floor Exercise
Greene, topped a fourth-or-best evening on all three of her events with a first-place, 9.825 performance on the floor. Brochi, along with McKean, both tied for third with a 9.800.

Air Force includes 21 competitors for the 2023 season, boasting a total of eight USA Gymnastics All-American honors and nine All-MPSF selections from 2022 including MPSF Freshman of the Year Genevieve Sabado.
The Falcons' roster includes eight newcomers for 2023 (Sayge Berger, Madison Carlisle, Kylee Greene, Gabriella Hartley, Gianna Martyna, Addison Moore, Janie Ottenbreit, Sarah Willis) boasting 13 total championship awards, including one at the national level and two regional titles.
Looking Ahead:
In 2023, the Falcons host four separate home meets across a three-month coast-to-coast campaign - A season punctuated by Air Force's hosting of the MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) Championship on the USAFA campus for the sixth time since 2002. The postseason event will be held on March 18 at Clune Arena for the first time in the venue's storied history.
