LOGAN, Utah – In its second meet of the 2024 season, the Air Force women's gymnastics team closed week two of competition at the Utah State dual with a 193.925.

Slife led or tied Air Force's top marks in all events, posting a 9.800-or-better in all four rotations.

Moving to floor exercise, the Falcons finished with a 48.625, topping Utah State's 48.400. Slife and junior Ayla McKean both finished with a 9.800. McKean, making her floor debut on Friday night, earned her best score since the 2022 season.
Closing the evening on the balance beam, Air Force put up its strongest numbers of the evening, finishing with a 48.800 and earning its strongest marks of the night to best Utah State while improving from week two. Slife took a big step forward in the event, scoring a 9.875 to match the Falcons' high score in the event from week one. Sophomore Kylee Greene followed up with a 9.825 – setting another top-three program score in the event in as many weeks.
Head Coach Jennifer Green on week two from her Falcons:
"I was really proud of the way the team handled themselves tonight. We had tons of conferences and inquires which changed the momentum of the meet. After having to count a fall on vault, the team rallied and put on a show on the floor exercise. We put an exclamation point on the night ending on beam and hitting 6 solid routines. I'm excited to see how we will continue to build week to week."
Coach on Maggie Slife' performances to open her career:
"Maggie owns the Nike motto of "Just Do It" and have fun. Her years of training and rituals and routines she does every day in practice is what she falls back on in competition. Maggie's routines can compete with anyone's in the country She stays grounded and loves her team and all the support!"
On where her Falcons shined most Friday night:
"We had several different people in lineups from last week. We rested Velandra (Brochi) and Ayla was back in three lineups tonight.
"Madison Carlislie started us off on bars with a fantastic routine 9.8 and set the stage. She was also put in the floor lineup last minute and did an incredible job.
"Gracie Willis stepped up big for us tonight. She was relaxed and just went big on every event. It was a joy to see all her hard work pay off. "
