Air Force logged nine total shots at the Fresno State net, with six forcing Bulldog goalkeeper Shivani Battaglia into saves. Sophomore Chase Borntreger and junior Eleanor Musgrove's two shots apiece led the Falcons, with both of Borntreger's attempts proving on-goal. Junior goalkeeper Kylie McElroy, back in the starting lineup, made a career high 10 saves on the night.
The Falcons ceded goals to Fresno State in the 15th and 41st minutes. In the opening score, Bulldog Haley Espinoza, driving up the right wing, got a cross in front of the Air Force net. Ciara Wilson redirected Espinoza's service to the right of Air Force keeper Kylie McElroy, where senior attacker Kaelyn Miller was able to drive in the 1-0 score.
Minutes before the break, Fresno State cleared its second goal off a deep shot from Sam Paepan. After McElroy warded off an initial shot attempt by Paepan established off of a free kick, Paepan emerged from the resulting scrum to get the scoring strike.
