Falcons Hit the Road for MW Matches at Nevada, Utah State

The Air Force volleyball team heads back out on the road this week for a pair of Mountain West contests. The Falcons will open the conference weekend at Nevada on Thursday, Oct. 10, before traveling to Utah State on Saturday, Oct. 12.
MATCH INFORMATION
The Falcons' Thursday match at Nevada will begin at 7:00 p.m. (PT), inside Virginia Street Gym, while the Utah State match will be held at Wayne Estes Center, beginning at noon (MT) . Both matches will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network and the MW App (available on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Android TV). SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Nevada is currently 8-8 on the year, while holding a 1-3 record in the Mountain Wes after a pair of road losses to UNLV (2-3) and San Diego State (0-3) kas week. The Wolfpack's Gabby McLaughlin is ranked fourth in the league with a 3.88 kills-per-set average in conference matches, while also holding a No. 5 ranking in points (4.18 pps). Utah State, who will host New Mexico on Thursday, improved to 2-2 in the Mountain West following a pair of road victories over San Diego State (3-2) and UNLV (3-0). The Aggies' 5-10 overall record includes a loaded non-conference schedule that included contests against three nationally-ranked teams – including (then) eighth-ranked Purdue. Since the conference season began, Utah State is ranked third in the conference in hitting (.221), kills (13.28),and assists (12.17). The Wolfpack shared a pair common non-conference opponents with the Falcons, claiming five-set wins over San Francisco and Seattle, while the Aggies fell in straight sets to UTEP the week before the Miners faced Air Force.

Ella Tschuor became the 20th Falcon at the Division I level to record 20 kills in a match, as she put down a career-high 20 scores during the Falcons' five-set thriller with New Mexico on Oct. 1. Just the second Air Force player since 2019 to have a 20-kill match, Tschuor marked the 79th individual 20-kill performance in the Falcons' DI history.

The Falcons 23-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-23, 13-15 match with New Mexico on Oct. 1 marked the closest match in Air Force history – marking the only time every set has been decided by the minimum two points.
