U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force Women's Basketball went toe-to-toe with Colorado Springs neighbor UCCS on Tuesday night, before breaking free early in the second half, ultimately taking down the Mountain Lions, 71-52, in Clune Arena.
Senior Madison Smith led Falcon scoring with 15 points (6-10 FG, 3-3 FT, 3 REB 4 STL); Junior guard Milahnie Perry earned 15, marking her 23rd-consecutive game scoring in double digits; Junior Emily Adams and sophomore Jayda McNabb both added 10 apiece.

From there, a McNabb three and a pair of quick baskets for Perry and Smith both created off of steals on UCCS inbounds plays eventually built out a 19-2 Air Force run from which their opponent could not recover.
The Falcons, outscoring UCCS 19-9 in the third, led by as much as 31 points (70-39) midway through the fourth. UCCS mounted a 13-1 run down the final minutes of the game, scoring on four of their last five baskets, but time expired before the Mountain Lions could complete a comeback.
In the game, the Falcons shot 17-18 (.940) from the free throw line; Air Force totaled 16 steals on the night, the most in a game since earning 15 against San Jose State at home last season (Feb. 24); The Falcons led UCCS in points off turnovers (30-8), second chance points (12-9), points in the paint (38-16) and fast break points (11-5).
