
Women’s Basketball Puts All-Time Start on the Line at Oregon

In its toughest test to date this season, Air Force Women's Basketball opens a two-stop Oregon trip in Eugene, taking on the Oregon Ducks in Matthew Knight Arena on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. MT.

Junior Milahnie Perry and senior Madison Smith both lead Falcon scoring, averaging 17.2 and 15.6 points, ranking fifth and sixth against the Mountain West, respectively. 32.8 combined points per game for Perry/Smith currently stands as the highest scoring duo in the league.

McNabb was one of 13 players across Division I to log a double-double in the opening week of competition, earning 16 points and 10 boards in Air Force's 73-66 win over South Dakota (Nov. 8). Since then, she has added another (17 PTS, 10 REB vs. UCCS, Nov. 19) and recorded double-digit rebounds in six of Air Force's 10 games to date and in four of the last five.
Senior point guard Jo Huntimer's 4.20 assists per game and 3.23 assist/turnover ratio are both second league-wide, with the latter ranking 17th in the nation.

The Falcons, earning their sixth-straight win, is the program's longest win streak in its Division I history and the longest since the 1993-94 season; At 9-1, Air Force builds on its best season start since the 1982-83 Falcons started 11-1; An unblemished 6-0 record in Clune Arena extends the Falcons' best home start since 1985.
Sophomore Keelie O'Hollaren led scoring for the game, earning a season high 18 points on a 4-8 showing from three and 6-12 shooting from the field. O'Hollaren closed the first quarter with 12, including going 4-4 from distance.

O'Hollaren's massive first-quarter performance from three was the foundation of a 12-0 run which left Seattle U in a double-digit deficit from which the Redhawks were unable to recover. Cortez got her jumper going, scoring along the baseline on back-to-back possessions to start the run. Steals for McNabb and senior Jo Huntimer (3 PTS, 7 AST, 4 STL) on the proceeding two Redhawk possessions turned into three O'Hollaren three-pointers in the space of 40 seconds, and a fourth with just over a minute remaining to push a 12-point Air Force lead.
The Falcons outscored Seattle 21-14 in the second quarter to lead 43-24 at halftime. Returning from the locker room, the Air Force defense continued to frustrate the Redhawks, forcing 10 steals in the second half and holding Seattle U to just 20 points for the remainder of the game. Air Force led by as much as 35 points in the third quarter and 39 in the fourth.
