Guy Blessing Named AHA Goalie of the Week

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force junior Guy Blessing was named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week in helping lead the Falcons to a split with second-place Sacred Heart, Feb. 9-10.

Blessing, from Chandler, Ariz., recorded his second shutout of the season and third of his career with a 2-0 win over SHU, Feb. 10. He stopped all 18 shots he faced, including 11 in the third period and four after SHU pulled the goalie. In the Sacred Heart series, he stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced for a 1.52 goals-against average and a .903 saves percentage.

The weekly award is the second for Blessing this season and third of his career. The weekly award is the 10^th by a Falcon this season.

Junior forward Clayton Cosentino was honorable mention AHA Player of the Week while freshman forward Brendan Gibbons was honorable mention AHA Rookie of the Week.
