ST. LOUIS – Air Force put on its most dominant display of lacrosse this season, outscoring Lindenwood, 15-3, in ASUN Conference action at Hunter Stadium. The Falcons, now 4-4 on the season, are off to a hot 3-0 start in league play.
Sophomore attack man Caelan Driggs had a career day with five goals on six shots, notching his third hat trick performance this season. Driggs leads all Falcons with 21 goals to his credit.
Nine other Falcons accounted for 10 goals, testament to AF's ability to move the ball around. Junior Kyle Griffith scored two goals while Turner Ashby, Aidan Tolen, Josh Yago, Wes Peene, Cooper Rich, Cole Cunningham, Hunter Panzik, and Mana Wilhelm tallied a goal each.
Air Force doubled up Lindenwood with 42 shots on the day to tie the season-high mark, led by Driggs and Yago with six shot attempts each. The Falcons' 37 ground balls is also a season best. Air Force put 24 shots on goal for the third time this season.
The Falcon defense proved too overwhelming, blanking the Lions in the first and fourth quarters. Sophomore goalie Nolan Parlette claimed his fourth win in cage, making five saves against eight shots on goal. Parlette split time with Quinn Richards who also made five saves.
Braden Gaab took the hot seat at center X, winning nine faceoffs in 18 attempts. He picked up a game-high six ground balls.
Next up, the Falcons return to the Academy to host Cleveland State in ASUN action on March 31. Face off on Easter Sunday is at noon at Falcon Stadium.
