The Mountain West Gymnast of the Year, sophomore Maggie Slife, is set to represent the Air Force Academy at the NCAA Utah Regional, on the hunt for Air Force Women's Gymnastics' first-ever bid into an NCAA Championship field.
Slife will compete in the same rotation as Boise State in Session I of the second round of competition at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, set for 1 p.m. MT. The Broncos, along with Minnesota, UCLA and Southern Utah round out the teams competing in the quad for the session.
The top 12 all-arounders and the top 16 individual event specialists on each event who are not competing with a qualifying team are tabbed for individual competition; The top two teams, the top all-around competitors, and the top event specialists on each event (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, set for Apr. 17-19.
Slife, the top-ranked all-arounder out of the Mountain West, arrives at Salt Lake City with the top National Qualifying Score (NQS) of the regionals' three individual all-arounders (39.325). The Air Force sophomore will be vying for a spot in the NCAA Championships against Iowa State's Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa (39.080) and Eastern Michigan's Raisa Boris (39.135).
Slife, the reigning Mountain West Gymnast of the Year and back-to-back league all-around champion, stands as the first Falcon gymnast to represent the Academy at consecutive regionals since Air Force went 12-straight from 2008-19 and is also the first Falcon to go consecutively since Anna Salamone was selected in both 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Slife built a standalone resume in the Mountain West in 2025, earning conference Gymnast and Floor Specialist of the Year accolades after garnering both the highest all-around (39.325) and floor (9.880) NQS among conference competitors this season. Additionally, she earned All-Mountain West recognition, landing first-team recognition in the all-around and on both vault and floor, while also being tabbed a MW second-team honoree on bars.
