Golfers travel to Bandon Dunes Championship, March 8-10

THIS WEEK: The Air Force golf team will travel to Bandon, Oregon, for the 17th annual Bandon Dunes Championship, Sunday-Tuesday, March 8-10, at the Pacific Dunes Course. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
THE LINEUP: The Air Force lineup this week is: 1-Brooks Morrell; 2-Eli Huntington; 3-Eric Liveringhouse; 4-Ben Zeiler;5-Ted Davenport; Ind-Carson Baker.
THE FORMAT: Golfers will play 18 holes each day in a shotgun start beginning at 7:45 am PT on the par 71, 6,600-yard course. Each team will play five golfers with the top four scores counting toward the team score each day.
THE FIELD: Air Force will compete against Idaho (the host school), Penn, Wofford, Seton Hall, SIUE, Utah Valley, Utah Tech, Denver, Sacramento St., Oregon State, Oregon, Seattle U, Santa Clara and Eastern Washington.
ABOUT THE BANDON DUNES INTERCOLLEGIATE: This is Air Force's fourth time at the Bandon Dunes Championship. The Falcons have tied for 15th twice with the team's best score being a 933 in 2022. The Bandon Dunes Resort opened in 1999 with the original Bandon Dunes Course designed by David McLay Kidd. Since that time, the resort has grown to include five championship golf courses and a pair of stunning short courses. The resort has been designated as the No. 2 public golf course in the United States, behind Pebble Beach. The resort has become one of the top golf destinations in the world, hosting multiple USGA National Championships, including the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur, the 2020 U.S. Amateur and the 2022 U.S. Junior Amateur. The resort has signed on for 12 more USGA National Championships through 2045. The 2028 Walker Cup will take place on the original Bandon Dunes course.
LAST TIME AT THE BANDON DUNES: Eric Liveringhouse and Carson Baker led the Air Force golf team on the final day of the Bandon Dunes Championship, March 11, 2025 on the Trails Course in Bandon, Ore. Liveringhouse and Baker each shot a 76 (+5) on the final day. Cameron Kahle placed 38th overall with a 226 (+13), followed by Morrell (235), Baker (236), Liveringhouse and Huntington (241). Oregon won the tournament with an 848 (+4). Utah Valley was second (863), Boise State and North Dakota tied for third at (870). Air Force was 15th at 922.
LOOKING AT THE FALCONS: Four Falcons have played all 18 team rounds this season. Eli Huntington leads the team with a 75.44 season stroke average. Carson Baker is second at 75.56, followed by Brooks Morrell (75.71) and Eric Liveringhouse (76.06). Freshman Ben Zeiler shot the best round by Falcon this season, competing as an individual, with a 68 at the Gene Miranda Invitational on the Silver Course. Liveringhouse's (Gene Miranda Invitational) and Eli Huntington (Loyola) have each shot a 69 in team competition.
LAST TIME OUT: Senior Brooks Morrell tied his career best for the second straight day with a two-under-par 70 to lead the Air Force golf team on the final day of the Loyola Intercollegiate, Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear Ariz. Morrell finished the 54-hole tournament with a 214 (-2) to place 30th of 119 golfers. The 214 is the best 54-hole score of his collegiate career. In the final round, Air Force shot a 290 (+2), the fourth-best round of the season and third-best on the road. Huntington finished the tournament at 218 (even), followed by Zeiler at 222 (+6), Liveringhouse at 223 and Baker at 227. Davenport finished at 226 as an individual. Air Force tied for 15th with an 872 (+8), the best 54-hole team score since the 2024 Loyola Intercollegiate. Richmond won the tournament with an 830 (-34). Loyola Maryland, the host school, was second at 833 (-31) and Denver was third at 837 (-27).
