Women’s Gymnastics Puts 6-0 Home Record on the Line Versus No. 23 Denver, San Jose State

Air Force Women's Gymnastics makes its return to the Cadet West Gym on Friday night, hosting DU and San Jose State at 7 p.m. MT.

Unblemished at Home:
The Falcons boast a perfect 6-0 home record to date in Cadet West Gym, scoring wins over Winona State (Jan. 9), Eastern Michigan/Boise State/Kent State (Jan. 23) and Utah State/Alaska Anchorage (Feb. 14).
Unprecedented Successes for the Falcons:
Twice in 2026 and three times in the past two seasons, Air Force has broken its all-time record score. Air Force finished with a 195.800 on Feb. 6 to beat Utah State and Alaska Anchorage at home, then topped the record again on Feb. 22, scoring a 196.300 in a road win over host San Jose State and UC Davis.
In the Rankings:
Air Force currently ranks 34th in the nation and third in the Mountain West, sporting a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.321. The Falcons rank 41st nationally on vault (48.7771), 36th on bars (48.818), 35th on beam (48.764) and 37th on floor (48.964).
This Week in the Awards:
For the eighth-consecutive time this season, Air Force gymnast Maggie Slife was named the Mountain West Gymnast of the Week and both Vault/Bars Specialist of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
In Air Force's Feb. 27 showing at Utah State, Slife scored a 39.725 as an all-arounder. The junior finished with sole possession of the podium on both vault (9.925) and bars (9.900) and a share of first place on floor with senior teammate Kylee Greene (9.850). Slife's top marks on both vault and bars were the only 9.900's of the evening in Logan and both marked a conference best for the weekend. Slife's 9.925 on vault tied a career best and the program's all time score for the second time this year.
Slife collects her eighth-straight Gymnast of the Week award from the conference this season, an eighth-consecutive bars honor and a third-straight vault specialist award, bringing her season total to 31. Slife's most recent Gymnast of the Week recognition marks her 18th-straight, extending back to the 2025 season. No other gymnast in the conference has claimed the award since Air Force's bye week in the 2025 season.
On the national stage, Slife currently ranks ninth in the all around (39.470), 37th on vault (9.860), ninth on bars (9.915), 49th on beam (9.865) and 36th on floor (9.895). In the all around and on bars, Slife is the highest ranked non-Power Four gymnast in the nation.
Last Time Out:
On Feb. 27, Air Force fell to Utah State on the road – But scored a 195.825 in the loss, good for the newest second-best score in Falcon history.
Air Force started the evening scoring a 48.825 on bars. Anna Kristianson, competing for the third time this season, stuck a double layout to earn a 9.700. Bigler finished with a 9.775 and a share of third place. Junior Maggie Slife, the current sixth-best bars performer in the country, scored a 9.900 to anchor Air Force in the event and earn the top podium.
On vault, Slife and Bigler paced Falcon scoring in the event. Slife got a solid stick on her run, scoring a 9.925 (meet-high score), tying her career best to match the Air Force all-time score for the second time this season. Bigler, the Falcons' final competitor on the apparatus, scored a 9.850, leaving Air Force with a 48.950. Both competitors finished the evening in first and with a share of second place, respectively.
Erin McDermott, competing on floor for just the second time as a freshman, had a strong showing from start to finish, scoring a 9.750 to reset her career best. Senior Kylee Greene, consistently excelling on floor this season, scored a 9.850, earning her sixth 9.800 or better this year in the event. Slife followed up, matching Greene's 9.850 with both ending in a three-way tie with for first place with Utah State's Nyla Morabito. As a whole, Air Force closed its bid on floor scoring a 48.950.
Air Force ended the evening with an exceptional team performance on balance beam, scoring a 49.100 to top Utah State. McDermott opened the Falcons' bid on beam in strong fashion, scoring a 9.800 to her second 9.800-or-better in consecutive meets. Hartley stuck her dismount to follow McDermott with a 9.750. Anna Bacott shined on a difficult routine, scoring a 9.850 for a second-place finish, and Bigler posted a 9.875 to lead the Falcons on the apparatus and finish with sole possession of first place.
In the all around, Slife scored a 39.425 to earn the title, her ninth this season. Bigler finished in second with a 39.275. Greene finished with a 39.100.
Air Force's second all-time 195.825 represents the third top-three finish the Falcons have posted in 2026.
Looking Ahead:
Following Friday's meet, Air Force shares a gym with Denver again on Monday, taking on the Pioneers in Magness Arena on Monday evening in Denver. The Falcons are back in front of fans at the Academy on March 14, taking on Fisk University for their 2026 home finale.
Installation Access Improvements for Intercollegiate Athletic Events:
Access procedures at the U.S. Air Force Academy continue to affect athletic events. While the installation remains open, anyone without a DoD ID card must obtain a visitor pass to enter the base.
New this year: Passes will now be issued monthly instead of requiring a separate submission for each event. This means ticket holders only need to complete the form once per month to gain access to all events during that time. Ticket holders can request a base pass using the link provided below.
After registering, you will receive a message on our phone to present at the gate when entering the Academy. Fans must also present their game tickets at each venue. All tickets and credentialed attendees can enter through the North or South gate. North gate is recommended for access to athletic fields; while fans are encouraged to use the North and South gates for football games.
