Andrew Veeder enters his sthird season as Air Force women’s tennis assistant coach in 2020-21. Veeder came to the Academy after two seasons as the women’s tennis assistant coach at the University of Arizona.
In his two seasons at Air Force, the Falcons have posted a 32-7 record (.821) which is the best two-year stretch in program history.
In his first year at Air Force, Veeder helped guide the Falcons to one of its best seasons in program history, as the team went 22-3, tying the program record for most wins in a season. Air Force claimed a share of the Mountain West Mountain Division title, earning the Falcons its first-ever MW title in a women's sport. The Falcons had nationally ranked singles and doubles players and earned its first-ever ITA Mountain Region Fall title-ever when TJ Fumagalli and Kristin Kerrigan claimed the title. The Falcons sent their first-ever doubles duo to the ITA Fall Championships in Fumagalli and Kerrigan.
In 2019-20, the Falcons went 10-4 for a .714 winning percentage, which is the second-best behind the 2018-19 team. Air Force notched another first-ever for the program, when senior TJ Fumagalli earned MW Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season. The Falcons also had a banner year in the classroom, as a program-record five players earned Academic All-Conference.
During his tenure at Arizona, Veeder helped coach Lauren Marker to a career-high ranking of 18 and a second round NCAA singles appearance in 2017.
Prior to his stint at Arizona, Veeder spent two seasons as an assistant women's tennis coach at the University of Central Florida under head coach Stephanie Nickitas. During his time at UCF, the Knights had a record of 25-14 with a 13-7 record in 2015 and a 12-7 record in 2016.
In 2016, Veeder helped coach three All-Conference honorees in Cortney Cesarini, Monica Matias and Natalia Serrano. The three honorees on the all-conference team were the most for UCF since the 2004 season. He also helped coach Caroline Eberhart who was named to the All-American Athletic Conference Team in 2015.
Veeder was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II South Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year back in 2013 when he was an assistant at the Florida Institute of Technology. He helped Kristina Huba achieve a No. 9 national singles ranking and ITA All-America accolades, while she partnered with Natasa Vukovic for a No. 25 doubles ranking. Huba went on to record 80 singles wins to set the school record.
Prior to coaching at the Florida Institute of Technology, Veeder was on the coaching staff at Georgetown Prep Tennis Club for one year where he trained juniors and adults. He helped organize and manage year-round clinics as well as teach private lessons.
Veeder is a 2011 graduate of Gardner-Webb University, where he played tennis for four years. He accumulated 41 career doubles victories while playing at the top of the lineup in all four seasons and finished with 35 career singles wins. Veeder was also an ITA Academic All-American and was named to the All-Atlantic Sun Conference team as a freshman. The Brevard, N.C. native received his Master's Degree in Business Administration at the Florida Institute of Technology.
Veeder is married to his wife, Jessica. They have a daughter, Madison, and sons Spencer and Louis.
