Last Time Out
The Falcons wrapped up home action with a 1-1 weekend, which included a tough 1-0 loss to conference leading Boise State on Friday, followed by a 1-0 victory over Utah State on Sunday for Senior Day. Air Force held the top scoring offense in the MW to just the one goal, while a missed penalty kick for the Falcons prevented the game from being a 1-1 tie. The Blue and Silver got its first conference win of the season on Sunday, as a 65th minute goal from junior Bree Bezdek, assisted by seniors Jennifer Hiddink and Kaitlyn Cook, was the difference in a match played inside the Holaday Athletic Center due to cold and snowy weather outside.
Hiddink The Brick Wall
For the 2018 season, senior goalie Jennifer Hiddink continues to be one of the top keepers in both the conference and country. She is currently leading the Mountain West in saves per game (6.14), and save percentage (.860), while ranking second in total saves (86). Her total saves are 15th in the NCAA, while her saves per game are 23rd and her save percentage is 25th. The veteran netminder is second in Air Force history in career saves with 331. She is 34 away from breaking the program record of 364 set by Steph Jardine. In addition, the Wylie, Texas native is second in goals against average (1.22), third in shutouts (13), while also ranking fourth in wins (17), and GK minutes (5155).
Additionally, Hiddink is also cementing herself as one of the all-time best to play in the Mountain West Conference. With nine more saves this season, Hiddink will be the all-time leader in career saves in MW Conference history. On top of that, her 5.81 career saves per game average currently ranks fourth in MW annals.
