The United Soccer Coaches switched up the regional ranking system for 2018 and the WAC is now in the Far West Region with the Pac-12 and Big West conferences. Air Force remained at number two, UT Rio Grande Valley moved up one spot to seventh and Utah Valley rejoined the poll at eighth.
The WAC has six teams in the top 100 of the latest NCAA RPI Rankings. Air Force moved up two spots to 22nd while UT Rio Grande Valley dropped seven spots to 43rd. Air Force has taken nearly twice as many shots as all opponents per game (278-180), and more than double all opponents' shots on goal (135-66). The Falcons 7.50 shots on goal per game is the best in the WAC and third-most in the nation. Air Force has taken five or more shots on goal in 17 of 18 matches. The Falcons' stingy defense has yielded seven shutouts this season while holding all but two opponents to five or less shots on goal for the match. Due to a questionable red card against GCU, Oct. 28, senior David Louthan, a linchpin defender, will be required to sit out the semi-finals match.
Individually, Bone leads the squad with 30 points from 12 goals and six assists, a mark that ranks him second in the conference and 12th-most goals in the nation. He leads the conference in points, a mark that puts him at seventh-most points in the nation. Bone has also notched five game-winning goals this season, making him first in the conference and ninth in the nation in total game-winners. Dewing has put up impressive numbers as well, recording 11 goals, a mark that puts him third in WAC goal-scoring and 22nd-most in the country. Senior teammate Luis Martinez leads the team with seven assists. Bone and Dewing are first and third, respectively.
In goal, Andrea Seazzu is proving to be one of the top keepers in the country with a 0.682 goals against average; a mark that puts him atop the conference and 13th-best in the NCAA. He has the second-best save-percentage in the WAC and 26th-best in the country (0.810).
Seazzu's relatively low save-count (51) can likely be attributed to Air Force's suffocating style of defense that allows opponents just a few opportunities on frame per game, most recently holding San Jose State to zero shots on goal for the entire match. Seazzu recorded a career-high eight saves against GCU on Oct. 28.
While Seattle U leads the WAC in shots (349), it's regular season champion Air Force holding the top spot in points (136), goals (48), least goals allowed (13), goals against average (0.71) and shutouts (7). AFA's Tucker Bone and SU's Noe Meza are tied for the lead in game-winning goals (5). In net, AFA's Andrea Seazzu is the leader in goals against average (0.68) while GCU's George Tasouris has the top save percentage (.831) and is tied with SU's Josh Adachi for the lead in shutouts (6). In WAC-only play, Seattle U led the league in shots (209). Air Force was the leader in points (81), goals (28), least goals allowed (8) and goals against average (0.79). UT Rio Grande Valley held the lead in assists (29) while CSU Bakersfield was the leader in saves (58). Utah Valley, Grand Canyon and UNLV all tied for the lead in shutouts with four.
LAST WEEKEND: Air Force's match against Utah Valley on Nov. 3 was snowed out after a brief storm hit the Academy. Because of the disparity in matches played, the WAC standings and seeding for the WAC Tournament were based on winning percentage instead of points, making Air Force the outright regular-season champions for its second-straight year.
UP NEXT: Air Force is competing for a direct bid into the NCAA national tournament by way of the conference tournament championship. If the Falcons are unable to secure the tournament title, they will await an at-large bid, announced Monday, Nov. 12, prior to the first round of competition. First-round action commences, Nov. 15.

II opponents, making the class of 2019 the winningest Div. I class of all time.
Bone has played in all 50 of Air Force's wins over the last four seasons. Dewing did not play in one of those wins, totaling 49 career wins with the Falcons. Bone and Dewing are the Falcons' senior-most veterans with Bone making 64 career starts in 77 matches played while Dewing has played in 74 career matches with 45 starts. Albeit Bone has more wins on his career profile, Dewing has the better win-percentage. Bone's win-percentage is .658 while Dewing's is .672.
