Air Force Downed At Pacific, 82-69

STOCKTON, Calif. - Air Force men's basketball dropped an 82-69 contest at Pacific Saturday night at The Spanos Center. Junior Ryan Swan led the Falcons with a career-high 23 points.
In a close game early, Pacific pulled away midway through the second half by connecting on three straight baskets that were three's. Aided by an 8-2 advantage in offensive rebounds in the second-half, the Tigers were able to pull away. On the night, Pacific connected on 10 of 22 three's, good for a 45.5 percent clip.
The Falcons found themselves in a 9-0 hole to start the game, but clawed back to take a brief lead late in the first half. A three-point basket by Swan game the Falcons a 30-29 lead with 1:32 to play in the first half. The momentum was quelled after a 7-2 Pacific run to end the half, giving the Tigers a 36-32 run.
The Falcons hung tough with the Tigers early in the second half, keeping the game to within two points as late as the 11:38 mark. A 13-3 run over the next five minutes allowed Pacific to build a double-digit lead.
The Falcons got to within seven points of the Tigers with 1:29 to play. Pacific was able to close the game out on another 9-0 run to end the game.
Lafayette Dorsey led five Tigers in double-figures with 19 points. Jahlil Tripp followed with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Swan's 23 points is the most by a Falcon this season. The junior went 8 of 10 from the field, adding two three's and five free throws. Swan also led the team with six rebounds.
Joining Swan in double figures were juniors Caleb Morris and Lavelle Scottie and senior Purvis Louder. Morris scored a season-high 15 points, making a team-best three three's. Louder had 10 points and five assists, both season-high's. Scotting scored 10 and added four rebounds.
The Falcons shot well from the field, making 53.1 percent of their shots. Pacific shot 52.8 percent from the field.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Nov. 5, hosting Denver.
