Air Force women’s basketball tips off against the Lady Rebels (3-11, 1-2 MWC), at Noon, in the Thomas and Mack Center
AIR FORCE at UNLV: The Falcons travel to Las Vegas to take on UNLV in the in the fifth MWC contest of the season. The Falcons and Lady Rebels will be tipping off at high noon (PT), Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Thomas and Mack Center. UNLV will be riding high as they just ended the MWC front-running New Mexico Lobos' win-streak with a 66-57 win in Las Vegas.
THE SERIES: UNLV leads Air Force in the all-time series, 40-5.

UP NEXT: Air Force returns to the Academy to host Nevada in MWC action, Saturday, Jan. 19. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. in Clune Arena. The Falcons will be partnering with Special Olympics Colorado to host a halftime scrimmage and honor Special Olympics athletes at the game.
LAST TIME OUT: Air Force was unable to fend off a fourth-quarter rally by San Diego State (6-8, 1-2 MWC), falling to the Aztecs, 70-61, Saturday afternoon in Viejas Arena.
Sophomore co-captain Kaelin Immel led the Falcons with 15 points and six rebounds. Emily Conroe and Riley Snyder dropped 12 points apiece and combined for seven rebounds. The Falcons, who shot over 40 percent for three quarters, held the advantage in points for over 20 minutes. A sluggish fourth quarter proved to be the difference.
Fouls were also a prevalent factor in the game as Air Force was called for 28 fouls which the Aztecs converted into 26 points at the free throw line. Two Falcons fouled out and three others were in foul trouble at the conclusion of the game.
San Diego State out-rebounded Air Force, 40-30, and shot 40.4 percent on the game. The Aztecs were led by Mallory Adams who hit critical three-pointers on three occasions.
A LOOK AT AIR FORCE: The Falcons are shooting .283 from deep, .348 from the field and .609 at the free throw line, to average 59.5 points per game. Kaelin Immel, who has led the Falcons in scoring all season, continues to sit atop Air Force scoring averages (11.4) while shooting .356 from three-point range and .354 from the field.
Teammates Riley Snyder, Emily Conroe and Briana Autrey average just over nine points per game each. Of the four leading scorers, Snyder has the high mark from the free throw line (.704) and three-point range (.377), while Autrey has the best shooting percentage from the field (.421) and leads the team in assists (26). Conroe sits between the two in shooting with a .250 mark from deep and a .386 mark from the field.
Other Air Force notables are team co-captain Venessannah Itugbu, who leads the team from the free throw line with a .731 FT percentage. Itugbu also has the second most steals (24) and blocks (13) on the team. Alexis Springfield, who is the only Falcon to start every contest this season, has the second-most assists on the team (22).
A QUICK LOOK AT THE REBELS: UNLV (3-11, 1-2 MWC) looks to defend Cox Pavilion on a high note as the Lady Rebels killed the New Mexico Lobos' win-streak with a 66-57 win, last week, in Las Vegas. LAST TIME THEY PLAYED: Air Force dropped a 67-59 contest to UNLV at Clune Arena. Kaelin Immel scored a team-high 20 points and set a new freshman scoring record at Air Force.
Air Force led for much of the first half until UNLV closed out the second quarter on a 9-0 run to take control of the game. The Falcons were leading 26-23 with 3:47 to play in the second before the Lady Rebels jumped ahead 32-26 at halftime. The Rebels went on to lead the rest of the game.
Immel set a new freshman scoring record at Air Force in the Div. I era with 353 points so far on the season. She surpassed the previous mark of 335, set by Letricia Castillo in 2004. The Beaverton, Oregon native connect on seven shots and was 7 of 8 from the free throw line. She is 60 points shy of the all-time record of 413.
