W. Gymnastics Heads to UW-La Crosse for a Friday evening Tri-Meet

Air Force women's gymnastics will compete with UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater, Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT
THIS WEEKEND
The Falcons travel to La Crosse, Wisconsin, to compete in a triangular with UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater, Fri., Feb. 1. The meet is slated for a 6:30 p.m. CT/5:30 p.m. MT start, in the Cartwright Center. The event is being promoted as #WhiteOutWisconsin.
NATIONALLY RANKED
Air Force, who was ranked No. 16 nationally on the balance beam for weeks two and three, has dropped down to No. 20 according to RoadToNationals.com. The Falcons average 48.800 on the beam with a high score of 48.950.
MURPHY WINS MPSF SEPCIALIST OF THE WEEK
Air Force senior Mariana Murphy has been selected as the conference's Specialist of the Week for action Jan. 23-29. Murphy, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, led the four-team field on the uneven bars with a season-high 9.800 mark to win first-place. Murphy's effort help lead the Falcons to a first-place team finish against San Jose State, Seattle Pacific and Alaska-Anchorage, for the first team-win this season. The honor marks the first MPSF award for Murphy this season and the second of her career.
LAST TIME OUT
Air Force posted a season-high 193.775 to beat San Jose State (191.775), Alaska-Anchorage (191.425) and Seattle Pacific (189.325), in the Falcons' first All-MPSF meet, Friday evening, in San Jose, Calif. Air Force, who posted a season-best mark as a team, also had a season-high 10 top-five finishes. The Falcons were led by first-place finishes from Tyler Davis (V, AA), Anna Salamone (V) and Mariana Murphy (UB).
Air Force dominated on the beam and uneven bars, taking three of the top-five positions in both events. On the vault, Davis and Salamone led the field with season-best 9.775 marks, to tie for first in the event.
On the uneven bars, it was Murphy who led the field with a career-high 9.800 mark to win first. Salamone, who holds the current Academy record on the bars (9.925), finished in close-second with a 9.775 mark. Davis left another top-five mark on the score sheet, finishing fourth in the event with a 9.600, tying her career-best mark.
The Falcons, who were ranked 16th in the nation on the beam for two-straight weeks (RoadToNationals.com), saw three more top-five finishes in the event. Cam Barber, who has placed top-five at every meet this season, led Air Force with another second-place finish (9.825), tying her season-high mark. Murphy (9.800) and Davis (9.775) finished tied for third, and fifth, respectively. Murphy set a personal season-high in the event while and Davis tied her season-best.
Davis continued to shine, as she finished tied for third in the floor exercise (9.850), tying her season-high. Davis had a highlight-reel night, finishing top-five in each event to win second in the all-around race with a personal season-best, 39.000.

The Falcons will host Senior Day against BYU, Seattle Pacific and Springfield, at 7 p.m. MT, Saturday evening.
