Air Force Returns to Action at Potts Indoor Invitational

The two-day meet will be held Jan. 11-12 at the Indoor Practice Facility in Boulder.
The Air Force track and field team returns to action this weekend (Jan. 11-12), when it travels to Boulder, Colo., for the third-annual Potts Indoor Invitational.
MEET INFORMATION
The Potts Invitational will be held at Colorado's Indoor Practice Facility, which is located on the east side of Folsom Field (weight throw will be held at Balch Fieldhouse). Four events – weight throw, high jump, long jump and pole vault – will be held on Friday, while the other two field events and all running events will take place on Saturday (a tentative schedule of events is listed below). Admission is $8 for adults and free for children 12-and-under on Saturday. Colorado's "Clear Bag Policy" will be in effect both days and only water is permitted inside the IPF. The meet will feature Front Range athletes from Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Wyoming. Live results are scheduled to be available via CUBuffs.com, while Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official Twitter account (@af_trackfield).
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
FRIDAY – 3:00 p.m.: Men's Weight Throw, Women's Weight Throw; 3:00 p.m.: Men's High Jump, Women's High Jump; 3:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, Men's Long Jump; 3:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, Men's Pole Vault; SATURDAY – 10:00 a.m.: Men's Shot Put, Women's Shot Put; 10:00 a.m.: Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 1:00 p.m.: 60-Meter Hurdles (prelim), 60-Meter Dash (prelim), Mile Run, 60-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 60-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay (men will compete first in all running events).
LEADING THE WAY
Garrett Coalson, Sam Hinegardner, Noah Riley and Sedacy Walden will serve as captains for the men's team in 2019, while Liz Jarvis, Aryn Maxwell, Jaci Smith and Kathryn Tomczak will co-captain the women's team.
HOME SWEET HOME
A total of 12 Falcons hail from the state of Colorado, including four from Colorado Springs – Terrell Bradford (Palmer), Maria Mettler (Air Academy), Miguel Molas (James Irwin Charter), Erika Willis (The Classical Academy) – and one from Monument – Drew Lester (Palmer Ridge). The squad's Centennial State roster also includes individuals from Eaton (Garrett Coalson), Fort Collins (Preston Roche), Highlands Ranch (Parker Garrison), Littleton (Noah Riley), Loveland (Megan Irvine), Parker (Scott Johnson) and Superior (Heidi Liles).
COMING UP
The Falcons return to the Academy on Friday, Jan. 18, to host BYU, Colorado State and Grand Canyon in the annual Air Force Team Challenge at the Cadet Field House.
