The Falcons and Sun Devils meet at 7:05 MT each night at Cadet Ice Arena
This Week - Air Force (0-2-0) opens the 2019-20 with a two-game non-conference series against Arizona State (1-3-0), Friday-Saturday, Oct. 18-19, at Cadet Ice Arena. Faceoff is at 7:05 pm MT each night.

Series vs. the Sun Devils - Air Force and ASU split a two-game series in 2016-17 at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. Air Force won the first game as four different Falcons scored in a 4-3 win . In the second game, ASU scored two first-period goals en route to a 5-2 win. Pierce Pluemer scored in the second period and ASU's Joey Dacord made 24 for the Sun Devils
In 2017-18, the Falcons swept a two-game series at the Academy. Ranked 19th in the nation, Air Force built a three-goal lead and then held off Arizona State for a 4-3 victory in the first game. ASU pulled the goalie with 1:00 left and had a flurry in the final 30 seconds as Billy Christopoulos made three saves for the Falcons. Air Force outshot ASU, 42-33, in the game. The Falcons were 1-for-5 on the power play while the Sun Devils were 1-for-7. Christopoulos made 30 saves while Daccord made 38.
In the second game, Matt Koch scored the game-winner as Air Force came from behind for a 3-2 win over Arizona State. ASU had a 2-1 lead early in the second period, Pierce Pluemer tied the game on a centering pass from Harper. Koch netted the game-winner at 17:44.
Scouting Arizona State - Arizona State is 1-3-0 overall this season. The Sun Devils opened the season by splitting a home series with Mercyhurst, losing the first game 3-2 and winning the second, 6-4. Last week, ASU dropped a pair of road games at No. 2 Minnesota State, 4-1 and 5-0. Junior Johnny Walker leads the team with three goals and six points in four games. Senior defenseman Brinson Pasichnuk has two goals and five points. Sophomore Evan Debrauwer has seen the most action between the pipes with three starts. He has a .874 saves percentage and a 4.02 goals-against average.
ASU is in its fourth season as a Division I hockey program and is college hockey's only independent. Last season, the Sun Devils were 21-13-4 overall and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, falling to Quinnipiac in the first round, 2-1.
Home Openers - In home openers under head coach Frank Serratore, the Falcons are 13-7-2 and have won five of the last six home openers. Last season, Air Force fell to No. 10 Denver, 4-1. That loss ended a streak of five straight wins in season openers
