
Falcons fall to CBU in overtime

CBU comes from behind for 12-10 overtime win in final home game of season
U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – California Baptist, ranked 19th in the nation, came from behind for a 12-10 overtime win over Air Force in a Western Water Polo Association game, Saturday, Nov. 2, in the final home game of the season at the Cadet Natatorium.
Air Force (9-15 overall and 0-5 WWPA), struck first when Luke Andres scored from Reagan Pittman on the man-advantage at 7:30 of the first period. Sam Fuller gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead, on another assist by Pittman, at 6:55. After a CBU goal, Grant Snyder gave the Falcons a 3-1 lead at 5:04. Pittman scored at 4:07 for a 4-1 Falcon lead. After a pair of Lancer goals, Andres scored from Fuller for a 5-3 AF lead after one period.
CBU scored twice in the second period to tie the score at 5-5 at the half. Trailing 7-5 early in the third, the Falcons tied the game on goals by Andres and Fuller late in the period. The Falcons regained the lead at 7:36 of the fourth when Pittman scored from Gavin Jones. The Lancers tied the game at 8-8 with 4:31 remaining. The Falcons fell behind 9-8, but Mike Miller scored on the power play from Andres with 1:12 left to tie the game. With time winding down. CBU's Christian Britton took a shot that was saved by Anthony Tolbert to force overtime.
In the first overtime period, Zach Lowery scored for the Lancers, but Reagan Pittman scored for the Falcons with 57 seconds to tie the game at 1-1.
In the second overtime period, CBU scored twice as Joseph Galgani scored at 2:06 and Joseph Griffin scored at 1:26 for the 12-10 win.
Air Force hits the road next week for a pair of conference games at Fresno Pacific on Nov. 8 and Santa Clara on Nov. 10.
