The two programs will meet for a dual meet at Maturi Pavilion on Sunday, March 17.
The 13th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics travels to Minneapolis this Sunday (March 17) to take on sixth-ranked Minnesota for its final road dual of the season. The 1:00 p.m. (CT) meet – the second contest of the season between the two programs – will be held at Maturi Pavilion on the University of Minnesota campus.
MEET INFORMATION
The dual meet between the Falcons and Gophers will be broadcast live on the BTN2Go app and live scoring will be available (direct links to both can be found on the team's schedule page at GoAirForceFalcons.com. For fans attending the meet, general admission seating is $8.
LET'S MEET THE OPPONENT
Minnesota, coming off of a triangular victory over Ohio State and Nebraska, is ranked sixth in the national standings with a four-score average of 407.000, while holding top-five rankings on the vault (71.733, second), parallel bars (69.333, second) and floor exercise (69.650, fourth). Individually, Shane Wiskus currently leads the nation in the all-around (83.017) and holds top-five rankings on the parallel bars (14.300, fourth) and high bar (14.117, fifth).
AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
With a four-score average of 394.650, Air Force is currently ranked 13th in the NCAA. The Falcons are also listed among the top-10 on the still rings (66.967, ninth), while Lukas Texeira is ranked second on the high bar with a four-score mark of 14.200.
YOU LOOK FAMILIAR
Sunday's competition will mark the second time this season that Air Force and Minnesota have faced each other in competition. The two squads met at the Academy at the season-opening Rocky Mountain Open, where the Gophers finished third (403.900) and the Falcons took sixth (384.550).
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
The Falcons return to the Academy on Saturday, March 23, to close out the regular season in a dual meet against 17th-ranked Washington. The meet, which is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. (MT), will also include a tribute to the team's five seniors – Ryan Girouard, Christian Kalustian, Eric Klein, Lukas Texeira and Jonah Urlaub.
