Air Force Heads to Navy for USAG Collegiate Nationals

The two-day event begins on Friday, March 29, at 3:00 p.m. (ET) at Macdonough Hall.
The 13th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team begins postseason competition this weekend, when it travels back to Annapolis, Md., for the 2019 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships. The two-day event, which will take place at Navy's Macdonough Hall, will feature the team finals on Friday, March 29, and the individual event finals on Saturday, March 30.
MEET INFORMATION
The team and all-around finals will take place at 3:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, March 29, while the top individuals will advance to the event finals at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 30. Teams initially scheduled to compete are Air Force, Arizona State, Army West Point, NoCal United, Navy, NY Alliance, SC United, Springfield, Temple, Washington and William & Mary. Additional information will be posted once released by Navy.
AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
With a four-score average of 395.767, Air Force is currently ranked 13th in the NCAA. The Falcons are also listed among the top-10 on the still rings (67.083, ninth), while Lukas Texeira is ranked fifth on the high bars with a four-score average of 14.233. In addition, Ethan Esval is listed among the top 25 on the still rings, with a 13.817 average (21st).
HISTORY 101
Air Force has won the last nine USAG team titles, while accounting for 28 individual championships and 98 USAG All-America certificates during that span. Since Air Force began competing at the USAG meet in 1994, the program has totaled nine team championships, 44 individual titles and 195 USAG All-America awards. The Falcons' current roster includes eight USAG All-Americans – Ethan Esval, Ryan Girouard, Christian Kalustian, Eric Klein, Scott McMurray, Lukas Texeira, Jonah Urlaub and Frankie Valentin.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
The Falcons make a return trip to Norman, Okla., next Saturday (April 6) to face top-ranked Oklahoma, second-ranked Stanford and No. 11 California at the 2019 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships.
