Air Force drops 79-54 MWC Contest at Nevada

Emily Conroe led Air Force women’s basketball with 18 points and six rebounds
RENO, Nevada - The Nevada women's basketball team set season-high shooting marks to get by Air Force, 79-54, in a Monday evening contest in the Lawlor Events Center. The Falcons drop to 8-20 overall with a 4-13 mark in league play while Nevada improves to 11-17, 7-10 MWC.
For the first time this season, Nevada finished perfect from the free throw line, knocking down all 12 attempts. The Wolf Pack shot 58.8-percent from the field (30-51) and 87.5-percent from beyond the arc (7-8). They were 7-7 in three-balls through the third quarter, only missing one attempt on the game in the fourth quarter. The Falcons struggled to find their shooting rhythm, shooting only 26.8-percent from the field on the game while hitting only 1-of-14 shooting attempts in the second quarter.
Air Force was led by sophomore guard Emily Conroe who dropped 18 points for her 16th double-figure scoring mark this season. Conroe shot perfect from the free throw line (6-6) and 50.0-percent from the field (5-10) and down range (2-4). She also added six rebounds and a team-high three blocks and two steals to her stat line.
Sophomore co-team captain Kaelin Immel notched her fifth-straight double-figure scoring mark, adding 11 points to the final tally. Freshman guard Haley Jones led the team with nine rebounds and two steals while classmate Briana Autrey registered a team-high five assists. They combined for 17 points between the two of them.
Nevada was led by Jade Redmon who scored 19 points and shot perfect from the free throw line (5-5). Teammates Camariah King, Emma Torbert and Essence Booker combined for 34 points, each with double-figure scoring marks.
Up next, the Falcons return home for their regular-season finale against Boise State at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, in Clune Arena. The Falcons are looking to deny Boise State a clean sweep on the season following a 79-48 loss to the Broncos in Boise (Jan. 23).
Following the game with Boise State, the Falcons will make a quick turn back to the road as Air Force travels to Las Vegas to compete in the Mountain West Conference tournament, hosted by UNLV, beginning Sunday, March 10.

First Quarter: NV 28, AF 19
AF starters: Haley Jones, Briana Autrey, Venessannah Itugbu, Riley Snyder and Kaelin Immel
