AF won 11 of the 13 events contested
USAFA, Colo. – The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving team rolled to a 137-74 dual win over Seattle University Friday evening, Jan. 17, inside the Cadet Natatorium. The Falcons won 11 of the 13 events contested, and had a top two finisher in all but one.
The day began with the 400 medley relay, as the squad of junior Kylie Stronko, and seniors Heidi Schellin, Autumn Wolfgramm, and Esther Min took first. From that squad came three other first place finishes, as Min won the 50 free, Wolfgramm the 100 free, and Schellin the 200 breast.
Air Force also had two 1-2-3 finishes, as in the 1000 free, senior Kelsey Linzmeyer, and freshmen Gabby Auerbach and Greer Johnson took the top three spots. Then in the 400 IM, sophomores Ashley Buzzelli and Alexandra Armbruster, as well as senior Jayden Glover, went 1-2-3.
The final individual swimming wins came in the 200 fly from sophomore Dia Gawronski, and the 500 free in freshman Gina Jenkins. In the final event of the evening, the 400 free relay, Wolfgramm, Min, junior Lexie DuChene, and sophomore Lia Campbell took gold. Finally, the two diving events were competed uncontested as SU does not sponsor a diving program. In the 1-meter, freshman Ashlyn Foster had the top score, while in the 3-meter, classmate Anna Kemper had the top score.
The Falcons will return to action tomorrow, when they take on Seattle, as well as Northern Colorado, in dual competition. Things from the Cadet Natatorium begin at 11 a.m.
