The Falcons open the New Year with Mountain West Conference action at home against the UNLV Rebels, Saturday (Jan. 4), at 1 p.m. in Clune Arena.
TIME CHANGE
Following the game against UNLV, Air Force will return to its standard Saturday tip times of 2 o'clock for the remainder of the season. The Falcons' game against the Lady Rebels was moved up an hour to prevent overlap with hockey's 5:00 p.m. face off against AIC, the same day, in Cadet Field House.

UNLV topped Air Force, 62-47, in last season's meeting in Clune Arena. The Lady Rebels led the Falcons for over 39-minutes of action as Air Force struggled to get its offense fired up. The Falcons' leading scorers, Kaelin Immel and Riley Snyder, had zero first-half points while Emily Conroe dropped 12.
Conroe led the game with 18 points from two three-pointers and seven field goals, shooting 43.7 percent from the field on the night. Conroe also added five rebounds and three steals to her stat line. Briana Autrey added 10 points to the final tally but had nearly as many turnovers as points, as the freshman committed nine on the evening.
Haley Jones made her presence known in the paint as she collected six offensive and five defensive, tying UNLV's Katie Powell, a 6-4 center, with 11 rebounds on the game. Jones also added six points, a block and a steal to her final stat line.
Powell led UNLV with 14 points and 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. UNLV out-shot Air Force, 46.0 percent to 28.8 percent from the field. The Falcons, who out-rebounded the Rebels 22-18 in the first half, fell off the boards in the second half, ending the game with two less rebounds than their counterparts, 40-38. The Rebels' bench accounted for 29 points while Air Force's injury-riddled bench combined for just six.

Junior co-team captain Kaelin Immel led Air Force to its highest scoring mark of the season with her 19 point performance. Immel, who averages a career-high 15.5 points-per game, also added six rebounds and three assists to her stat line. She led a team in which every player contributed, marking the first time this season all suited players scored in the game.
Emily Conroe and Allyah Marlett had stellar nights as well as the duo posted double-double figures; a career-first for Marlett and the second this season for Conroe. Marlett, the Falcons' leading freshman scorer and rebounder, collected a game-high 12 rebounds while scoring 11 points to set new career highs standards. Conroe snagged 11 rebounds and dropped 10 points for her fourth double-figure rebounding performance and fifth double-figure scoring performance this season. She also picked off four steals on the night.
Sophomore guard Briana Autrey-Thompson scored 11 points for her second-straight double-figure scoring mark while also adding a game high five steals and three assists to her stat line. Autrey-Thompson shot perfectly through the first half (4-4 FG) and finished the game shooting 71-percent. Sophomore teammate Haley Jones snagged eight boards and scored six points, all of which were sunk from the free-throw line where she finished a perfect 6-6 on the night.
Freshman Kamri Heath was the team's fifth double-figure scorer, tallying 10 points and adding three steals and three assists to her final stat sheet. Freshman teammate Grace Hess had a career night as she scored a season-high seven points and collected a season-best six rebounds and three steals.
Air Force picked off a season-high 27 steals against NWU while helping the Prairie Wolves to 32 turnovers on the game. The Falcons converted 48 points off of turnovers.
IMMEL SETS THE STANDARD
Junior co-team captain Kaelin Immel has nine-straight double-figure scoring marks and 11 total on the season. She averages a career-high 15.5 PPG so far this season and is the fifth-leading scorer in the MWC.
Following her 14-point performance at LBSU (Dec. 18), Immel became the 16th all-time Falcon to achieve 1,000 career points at Air Force. Immel, who now has 1049 career points, is the 14th all-time leading scorer in program history and sixth leading scorer in the Division I era. The next rung of the all-time career points ladder is 1057, held by Theresa Blad (1981-85). Letricia Castillo (2003-07) is currently fifth in the Div. I era with 1,073 career points.
